Pilot’s Profile:
Marek Hyka has been actively flying from 1989 when he first sat in the cockpit. From the first moment he knew regular flying would not satisfy him completely and he was exploring aerobatics. After finishing his basic aviation training and receiving his aviation certificate, Marek had focused fully on aerobatics. He has been training under the supervision of Jiri Duras, who made him more comfortable with positive G (more in the section – “ what is overload”) and also taught him the first aerobatic figures. He also “forced” him to attend aerobatics competitions where Marek was excelling as a prospective aerobatics pilot. Marek has been participating in major competitions –i.e. the European Championships in different categories with diligence, natural talent and a great amount of self-discipline. All his effort didn’t go unnoticed – the Czech Republic representation team coach Stanislav Bajzik (currently the main referee of the famous Red Bull Air Race) has noticed his skills and made him part of the Czech representation team. Marek has taken the challenge seriously – and now he’s full fledged member of the Czech Republic representation team in aerobatics.
